The Monster in the Church
Wow! How this spirit rules in our country and nation, ESPECIALLY in the churches. Lucifer became jealous of God. He said I will be like the Most High! He wanted to be ‘top dog’. He not only wanted to be like God, he wanted to be God! Isaiah 14:12-14 and Ezekiel 28:12-19.
Understand this..... jealousy is a spirit! It’s an evil spirit. So how does this spirit of jealousy gain entrance into our lives? Through competition, covetousness, hatred, anger, and resentment.
Jealousy, often called the green-eyed monster, is the attitude within the heart that considers another a rival and a roadblock to one's own advancement or acceptance. When the monster of jealousy rears its head in the area of ministry, it causes hurt, a lack of mutual trust between fellow ministers. This monster is sly, often subtle, and many times unseen by others until the damage has already been done.
Jealousy's twin sister is pride and is often times led in by her. Pride first and then jealousy. It’s not easy being the recipient of another minister's jealousy. It hurts. It disillusions. It destroys. I know. I have been a victim of this devouring spirit.
Truth is....many are jealous because of their own insecurity. Many
pastors are so insecure, they refuse to allow ‘their’ people to attend other functions put on by other churches. They’re afraid of losing ‘their’ congregation. Don’t they know that they’re not the ‘drawing card’, that the people are not ‘their’ people.
A church can have the biggest building, the softest pews, the bigger band but unless Holy Spirit is there to draw the people it’s just a church full of the walking dead.....no life! Jealousy causes you to distrust in the One who you ought to have trust in.
Let me talk real for a minute.... This spirit is like a cancer that will destroy
you and your church using you to do the job. This is a principality spirit.
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against
spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12) I
would suggest that you find someone that is spiritual (not religious), who understands spiritual warfare. A true God called Pastor. Someone who
knows how to get on their knees in their prayer closet and fight the real spiritual warfare. I heard someone say one time that more battles are
fought and won in the prayer closet than on any battlefield.
When leaders are ignorant of satan’s devices he goes about to destroy
what God has put together. A life lived in the Spirit is a life lived in love.
First Corinthians 13:4-7 reminds us that "Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not
self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love
does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects,
always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres" (NIV).
First Peter 4: 8-11 encourages us to love one another deeply, to be
hospitable to one another, and to make use of the gifts God has placed
within us to minister to one another that in all things God will be glorified.
In 1 Peter 5, Peter encourages us to submit to one another and to be
clothed with humility.
God resists the proud but is pleased when we humble ourselves under
His hand and cast our cares upon Him. When we act in pride toward one another, it opens the door for the devil to come in and devour. Jealousy devours! Like a cancer, it will eat you alive from the inside out!
If the Church would come together as one the way Jesus prayed for them
to be she would be the most powerful force in the universe.
"That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us:"
The Church....the real Church of the Living God is a body; the body of
Jesus Christ, but satan is causing division in the body and he’s using the
spirit of jealousy to do it. This spirit must go in the name of Jesus!
Every demon in hell has to flee at the name of Jesus!
“That at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, in heaven and on earth
and under the earth.” Amen!
In His love,
Elizabeth
