   Our Christian walk is like dancing with Jesus.‭ ‬He leads, we follow. With a soft touch and gentle pressure, He guides us this way and that way. He may even give us a twirl now and then; we turn and then get right back into step with Him. There may even be a 'dip' or two. When these dips come we just hold onto Him more tightly, He pulls us close to Him and if we stumble, He just makes it part of the dance. And as we age, get tired and weak He holds us up and even closer to Him.

Willing To Die For A Lie

 Each of the 12 apostles left their families and careers, often traveling alone to distant countries, declaring that Jesus died and came back to life. For proclaiming Jesus' resurrection, they were beaten, imprisoned, and many killed in torturous ways. This is how some of them died....

Cheap Grace

 The secularization of Christianity can lead us to become culturally Christian and forego discipleship in the name of grace. Some call it 'cheap grace'. Cheap grace is the enemy of the Church. Cheap grace means the justification of sin without the justification of the sinner, grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ.  Do whatever you want, we're living under grace now. 

The Tithe That Ties

 Let’s talk about the misused book of Malachi for a bit...
In Malachi 3:7-11 we find, “(7) Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return? Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. (9) Ye (are) cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, (even) this whole nation. (10) Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that (there shall) not (be room) enough (to receive it). (11) And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.” 

It's Not God's Fault

Not everything that happens to you is God's will! I'll say it again...not everything that happens to you is God's will! I hate to say it but bad things happen to good people.

Cookie Cutter Christian

In this world, there are many religions, as there are many fads, fashions, and fancies. Some may operate quite independently. They are ships without destinations, explorers without compasses.

Things I've Learned

 I’ve learned it’s okay to laugh! I have a sense of humor and I believe it's God given. I know God at times looks down at me, shakes His head, laughs and says, “Oh daughter, what am I gonna’ do with you”. 

Women Can't Do What

 A basic question must be answered: “What is the overall teaching of the New Testament on a woman’s role in the church?” . . . “What is the big picture about women in ministry?”

The Bible is Just a Book

The bible is just a book, it’s not God! It’s not even the Word of God! Through the bible, I’m introduced to the Word of God.. “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God and the Word became flesh and walked among us." God is the author of grace, not the bible. The bible reveals that grace, but can never give it. My faith is in the One whom the bible reveals, not the bible.

Religion and a Three Piece Suit

  In this world we live in, that which is broken is without value. We generally try to avoid conditions of brokenness with our finances, our emotions, and our relationships with others. But carefully note this about God's kingdom, there is a large contrast here between the will of God and the will of man.  And unfortunately, in this world we establish our own pecking order. We tend to place people in social levels based upon their wealth, education, or status. We think we know “our place” and we unconsciously place some people below us in the social order, and a few above us. But the ground is level at the foot of the cross.

 As I was reading in the book of John chapter 20 verses 19-23, I’m fascinated. I’m fascinated not only by the fact that Jesus again performed another feat of ‘out of this world proportions’ when He walked through not only closed doors but doors that were locked to show Himself to the disciples.
